This position will report to the Cary, NC office, but will have the ability to work from home, if needed.

We are seeking a full-time, entry drafter with 1+ years of experience within the Telecommunications Industry. The candidate will report to Field Services Logistics Engineer II. This position will be responsible for the design and review of mapping reports for new and/or existing communication towers, light poles, buildings, foundations and rooftops.

Primary Responsibility, but not limited to:

  • Responsible for creation of AutoCAD drawings for Field Mappings
  • Ability to use technical skills to work independently and within a team to execute responsibilities, as well as solve technical problems
  • Incorporate field data into design criteria generated from the specifications
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with Field Service vendors, crews, engineering staff and subcontractors
  • Help improve and maintain current quality assurance process and improve overall product quality
  • Track and verify that deliverables are received by crews and/or drafters, ensuring all mapping has been reviewed and sent out with correct information by forecast
  • Manage Project and delivery schedule and when asked, define timelines
  • Prepare, review and submit accurate documentation for services performed, including but not limited to field survey, mapping reports, A&E site walks (rooftop and tower), Geotechnical Reports
  • Assess product/equipment performance based on field support data and recommend modifications and improvements as needed
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with Field Services vendors, crews and subcontractors
  • Manage subcontractor cost for AutoCAD vendors


  • Proficiency with AutoCAD software
  • Proficiency with project management software
  • Telecommunications Field Experience: 1 or more years (preferred) in Field Services or Construction Management
  • Communication Skills - Excellent written and verbal communication skills; speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification
  • Planning/Organizing - Excellent time management and organizational skills; sets goals and objectives; develops realistic action plans
  • Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; keeps commitments
